The television

I'm not watching the screen. It's a blur, the voices only slightly comprehensible. It's the glow I like. It feels like a blanket on my face, membrane thin, warm.

It's really late. I hear redemption, power, love. There may be a crowd in there. In too tired to focus my eyes. It's too late for religion anyway.

...

"It's contrived. I don't like it"
"Ala bro, just use it lah. Deadline dah dekat ni"
"It doesn't make any sense! Kau ingat tutor kita bodoh?"
"Manalah dia reti bab- bab south east Asian history ni. He'd probably think Srivijaya as some guy who plays in the IPL when he reads it"
"Oi, kau dengar VO kau ni: 'the mighty Majapahitans were finally brought down by the great Demak elephant army. The Demak's superior firepower and cannons destroyed any Majapahit resitance.' Kau ingat kita buat apa? Star wars? Ni scene tentera bergajah dalam hujan ni? Apa kes?"
"Dramatik apa. Besides, it's historically accurate. Somewhat."
"Tengkorak hang. According to your screenplay, after the 6 months stalemate, they ended the war by sending the Majapahit princess to the Demak leader, only to find out she's a woman"
"Modern apa"
"Ok. Mana nak cari '30 feet deep battle pit with side spikes' kau ni?"
"umm...scale models?"
